MARRIAGE

Marriage is a call from God to a life of covenant love so as to form a new family composed of husband, wife and children. Preparation should begin as soon as a couple makes a decision to marry. Couples must contact the parish office at least six months in advance so that the following can be accomplished:

1) Scheduling of wedding and rehearsal in the calendars of the church and priest.

2) Participation of the couple in the Engaged Couple Class.

3) Schedule three sessions with the priest.

4) Schedule a meeting with our Liturgy Director.Staff Contacts

All weddings must be celebrated in the church. The latest a wedding may be scheduled on Saturday is 2:00 p.m. Please contact the parish office for more information (419)693-1150.

PRE-CANA (Engaged Couples Class)

Pre-Cana is an experience centered learning process for couples planning to marry in the Catholic Church. During the one-day conference, engaged couples put into perspective and communicate with each other their individual and shared priorites, values and goals. Married team members share their experiences and the challenges of married life. Attendance at one of these days is a requirement of Catholic pre-marriage preparation in the Diocese of Toledo. ANNULMENT

This is a declaration by a church tribunal that a couple's previous marriage (which has ended in divorce) lacked essential elements to be considered a valid sacramental marriage in the Catholic Church.
A person seeks an annulment:

1) to put closure on a former relationship,

2) to receive an internal spiritual reconciliation,

3) to remarry within the Catholic Church.
