BAPTISM

div

Baptism plunges the newcomer into the power of Christ's death to sin and his rising to new life, the Paschal mystery. Now a child of God, Baptism brings membership in the body of Christ, the Church. Baptism is most meaningfully celebrated with the community at Sunday Mass, but can also be celebrated privately.

Baptism preparation highlights the role of parents as first teachers of the faith for their children. Before the baptism of their first child, parents are required to attend one baptismal preparation session. Sessions are held on the second Sunday of the month at 10:00 a.m. and the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. All sessions are held in the Parish Life Center. Families expecting a child, are invited to call the Parish office at (419)693-1150.
